Healthy Nutrition During Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
Proper nutrition plays a crucial role during pregnancy and breastfeeding. It not only provides the mother with essential nutrients but also supports the baby’s healthy growth and development. A conscious, balanced diet helps you feel energized and well - while ensuring optimal nourishment. Yet many women have questions, such as: What foods should be avoided during pregnancy? Which foods are especially beneficial? or What is the ideal diet while breastfeeding? In my consultations, you’ll learn exactly what to focus on.
NUTRITION DURING PREGNANDY - NUTRIENTS FOR MOTHER AND BABY
A nutrient-rich diet during pregnancy is essential for your baby’s healthy development. High-quality proteins, healthy fats, complex carbohydrates, and vitamins and minerals like folic acid, iron, and omega-3 fatty acids are particularly important. At the same time, certain foods should be avoided during pregnancy because they may pose a risk of infection or contamination. These include unpasteurized dairy products, certain types of fish, and raw meat products. One common question: Is Parmesan safe during pregnancy? The good news is yes - hard cheeses like Parmesan are made from pasteurized milk and can be enjoyed safely.
NUTRITION WHILE BREASTFEEDING - WHAT'S BEST FOR MOTHER AND BABY?
A balanced diet is also important during breastfeeding, as it provides the energy and nutrients needed for milk production. A healthy, varied diet not only supports the mother’s well-being but also ensures optimal nutrition for the baby. Many women wonder which foods might be problematic while breastfeeding. Foods that cause bloating, like legumes or certain types of cabbage, may affect some babies, but they don’t need to be avoided entirely. It’s best to observe how your baby reacts and adjust individually. Another common concern: Can you drink coffee while breastfeeding? In moderation, coffee is generally safe - one to two cups per day are considered harmless for most women.
POSTPARTUM WEIGHT LOSS - HEALTHY AND SUSTAINABLE
Gaining weight during pregnancy is completely normal and necessary to support the baby’s development. After giving birth, many women ask how to lose weight in a healthy way. Especially during breastfeeding, it’s important to lose weight gradually and sustainably to avoid affecting milk supply or overburdening the body. Postpartum weight loss should not involve strict dieting or calorie counting, but rather a balanced, nutrient-dense approach that supports your metabolism while still providing enough energy. With mindful eating and regular physical activity, gentle weight loss can be integrated into daily life. In my counseling, I’ll show you how to reach your feel-good weight at your own pace.
